Straight Up Media are based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex and provide cost effective media solutions with a special emphasis on (but not limited to) the voluntary and community sector. We offer a wide range of services from websites to audio production, print design to music composition. We understand the need to get your message out there but also that budgets and funding streams do not always make this easy. We want to simplify things and make your project an affordable reality.

Chris Silvey formed the company in 2007 to meet the demand for good quality media products at sensible prices. Chris says: “I was often asked by community groups to help with media projects and decided to form Straight Up Media”. The name represents what we stand for; open and honest service and a commitment to deliver the best possible cost effective products. Chris says: “In my role as Media & Communications Manager for a large community organisation, working on some large community projects was an eye opener, the fees involved were often inflated and prohibitively high, I knew I could offer similar quality services but at a realistic price."
 

Who are we?
Good question, well we aren’t quirky ‘media types’. Chris holds a First-Class Bachelor of Science honours degree in Media Production & Technology graduating with The Centre of Vocational Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement. Additionally, Chris holds numerous other qualifications covering Media Studies, Marketing, Advertising, Presentation Skills and Film Studies. He has a nationally recognised teaching qualification and has lectured in a variety of Media and Communications subjects to degree level.
